Feel Like You Again Series Part 2: What does it mean to reconnect?

I’ve been thinking a lot about what it actually means to reconnect with yourself. Not in a dramatic, burn-your-life-down kind of way—but in a real-life, sustainable, meet-you-where-you-are kind of way.

In the “I just want to feel more like myself again” kind of way. The “I’m good, but I know I’m missing something” kind of way.
A lot of what I shared last week touched on this too—how easy it is to drift from ourselves without even realizing it. (if you missed it, you can read it here.)
Many of the women who’ve come to my retreats say the same thing:
They love their lives. Their families. Their work.
They’re not running from anything—they just need time and space to find themselves again.
And honestly... sometimes it really is as simple as that.
Sometimes we lose touch with ourselves in the thick of it—parenting, work, caring for others, constantly keeping things running.
And other times? We’re doing okay, but realize we’ve been pouring so much outward that we haven’t checked in with our own hearts in a long time. And that alone can feel a lot.
Before I say anything else, let me be clear: It is normal to want this for yourself.
You're not selfish. This isn’t the 1950s.
Women are juggling so much—more than ever.
We’re holding families, managing careers, navigating relationships, absorbing constant input from media, society, expectations...
So please know: You're not broken. You're not failing.
You're just a human being with real needs living in a wild world.
And you're allowed to want more for you—just you.
That’s what reconnection means to me.
It’s not about starting over—it’s about making space for what’s been waiting beneath the noise.
Next week, I’ll share some of the small but meaningful ways I started doing that for myself—and how it shifted everything.
But in the meantime, if this stirred anything in you… I’d love to hear it.
What’s one part of yourself you’d love to spend more time with?
I'd love to connect with you and continue the conversation—feel free to comment below, email me or connect on IG.
Looking forward to connecting with you,
🫶Amy
